Dakon Game - Traditional Game from Java
The singa motif, a protective horse spirit native to the Lake Toba area in Sumatra, is the outstanding decorative feature of this beautifully finished traditional game from the island of Java. The game is played with coins, pebbles or beans. The popular game Mancala is a modern version of this game, which, while easy to learn, can involve strategy comparable to chess.
Hand carved from teak which has been stained a dark teal green, the dimensions are 11 inches high X 35 inches long X 5 3/4 inches across.
Playing pieces are not included.
